Been so busy teaching, working on my other art stuff, packing ice cream orders, so I haven't exactly had much time. Will keep you guys posted. Thank you!

First Look

Rhubarb Scarf First Look!My new rhubarb silk scarves coming soon to www.handmadelove.bigcartel.com. It was a little hard to take photos in drizzly rain. It was cold and I needed to pee too! So what you don't see in this picture, is me with my legs all crossed. Haha! This shot was a 'alright let's just take this and run!' sort of shot. We took it just to test out colours but somehow out of the 101 other posed, proper photos we took, this random one ended up being my favourite. Raw, spur of the moment, funny and not posed. The only thing I'd wish was better was probably the colour. Somehow the scarf appears a tiny bit duller than the actual itself. But yup, still, it's my favourite shot of the lot. I hope it makes you smile! I'll upload the rest of the other photos in the next few days. Similar to my banana scarves, there's only going to be seven of these scarves available. Thank you! xo

Upcoming Watercolour Class

Just a super quick pop by! For those of you interested, I have a new October watercolour painting class available for booking. This upcoming class will be held at the beautiful Heide Museum! I've always been excited about Heide ever since I was back at art school. Even though it's a bit of a hike just to get there, it's totally worth it. The gardens and grassy patches make for perfect painting + picnic spots. What better way to spend a morning painting then picnic while being surrounded by amazing sculptures and art! I am just so thrilled to be able to host an adult class at Heide Museum. What an opportunity. Thank you so much Heide! To book yourself a spot, head on over to the Heide website!

Do note, a great deal of this class will be spent outdoors. We're going to be walking through Heide's gardens, stopping and drawing plants, herbs, veggies and so on. My usual classes are all held indoors so this will be something different. If you've booked yourself a spot, please do come dressed in comfy clothes and shoes! Thank you :)

New Stock!

Emily Green x Dawn Tan Necklace High res Banana Silk Scarf Lookbook Hooray! Handmadelove is now stocked with some very limited new goodies. Emily Green x Dawn Tan necklace (Created based on colours from this painting) along with my latest funny banana silk crepe scarves! I've been wearing my scarf out these days and I keep getting told by people... "Are those bananas!? Oh my! How funny!" Not trying to blow my own trumpet, but these banana scarves have really been quite good at bringing on smiley oohs and ahhhs. Haha. Anyway, do take a minute or two to check out my new goodies. And of course, there's still more ice cream pillowcases, of which, I have got 3 ready to go right now! My pillowcases are all made to order so there's usually a 3 week wait. But if you order one tonight, your order gets shipped out within 4 working days!

Speaking about pillows, I have had quite a few emails asking about my ice cream softies. Yup, they'll be online soon too. Maybe sometime next week. I've been ridiculously busy and have not had enough sleep for the past week! Been working full time in a school, teaching. And also juggling my pop up, hand sewing all those softies, running an adult class, etc. No time to just sit and rest, let alone take proper product shots of my pillows. So yup, do hang on while I try to catch my breath! The thing about working alone and doing this whole one-woman show... I become quite a perfectionist at everything. I always challenge myself to take proper, nice product shots. I absolutely can't stand placing crappy photos on my shop. So yup, with that in mind, I promise soon, soon I'll get time to take some nice photos and then list them up online for sale! I'll keep all of you updated. Alrighty, off I go now to create a little teaching timetable. I.am.so.sleeeeeepy!

PS: I did a wee little Spring Themed gift guide for Finders Keepers! You might want to check it out too. Hehe.

One more sleep!

Upcoming Event!
See you this weekend at SO:ME Space, South Melbourne Market! There'll be art prints, original artworks, ice cream pillowcases and softies, meaty pillowcases, my new and soon-to-be-launched banana and rhubarb silk scarves, melamine dinner wares and some Dawn Tan x Emily Green necklaces. It's on for only 2 days so come on down and say hi if you can make it! It's not going to be a mega big proper shop, more like a mini stall really. But it would be lovely to chat and check out the other awesome stores like Supercool, Mister Simple and of course have your lunch at Claypots!

As part of Craft Victoria's annual Craft Cube, I'll also be hosting a watercolour painting class on Sunday. So thrilled to part of this year's mega lineup. Thanks Craft Victoria! 8 rockstars have booked in for the class. Can't wait to teach them and impart all my skills! Hah. The class space is pretty open so if you're around, you could come by and check it out and see what the adults are doing. And perhaps I might even tell you when and where my next painting class is! Hehehe ( Secret for now but there will be another painting class happening in October! At a super cool place, no less!)

Well, see you this weekend! Happy Friday!

Just thought I'd let you know the good news. Phoebe Munro, owner and extraordinaire of the AMAZING After Store has decided to keep my giant carrot up a little while longer! It was originally meant to come down a week ago, after Look Stop Shop ended but well, everyone loved having it there. There's been lots of people standing outside taking photos. Phoebe even ordered a bunch of yummy felt carrots specially for her store so one can take home a carrot too! So yes, my Giant Carrot will continue to be at After for a wee bit longer.

Thanks to all those who've snapped pictures of my giant carrot thus far. The above are some of the few who've nicely sent the pictures my way via Instagram! If you're in the area, do drop by and visit After! Thank you! xo

In another blog post, I promise!) 2 days only so come on down and say hi! I'll be busy hosting a watercolour class on the Sunday and a friend's going to be at my stall instead. But since my class is kind of just next to my 'shop', I'll be there, sort of. Saturday's best if you would like to come have a chat, bring me chocolates... Hehe. Just kidding! Just seeing you will be super nice!

If you follow me on instagram, you would have realised how by now, I'm slowly inching towards the bit where I go crazy printing, paying and packaging all my wares just so I can have a little shop stocked full of goodies! SO MUCH MONEY's going into this, it is super scary and I'm not even going to count! But yup, see you if you can make it! Alrightyo, off to do more work!

Terrific Tassie: DAY 6 - HERITAGE HIGHWAY/ HOMEWARD BOUND

Good morning everyone! So today marks the very last day of our little Tasmanian holiday guide. I hope you've enjoyed reading so far. I know the posts have been ultra-lengthy. But there was just so much to share! Too tough to squeeze into a short paragraph. Anyway here goes, our very last day in Terrific Tasmania! Tassie Holiday No surprises, we started off a little sad (SO not ready to leave!) and cheered ourselves up with yet another delicious breakfast at Jackman & Mcross. Haha. Told ya we loved that bakery! Needless to say, food was excellent once again. I'm starting to wonder if they even have mediocre stuff there. Before we left, we bought extra tarts and cookies for our long drive home. Our plan for the day was to spend our morning in Hobart, have an early lunch and slowly begin our drive up to Devonport where we would board the 7.30pm ferry and head home to Melbourne.
Tassie HolidayTassie Holiday After breakfast, we decided to walk around Hobart city one very last time. We popped by The CWA Gift Shop and bought a carrot cake, along with a cute crochet hot water bottle pouch. The old ladies running the shop were so cute and wrap everything up super nicely. I asked if I could take some photos and one couldn't hear me. I had to repeat several times and when she finally heard me, we both had a little laugh. Cute old lady! Tassie HolidayTassie HolidayTassie HolidayTassie HolidayTassie HolidayTassie Holiday While in the area, we found an amazing Map shop. Darren and I, we've always wanted a giant map. So walking into the shop was pretty much an experience for us. Maps everywhere! Large maps, small maps, old school, new, laminated, framed, everything! If you're after a giant map, you now know where to find one. We spoke to the shop lady before we left and I vaguely remember her mentioning that they can ship interstate. Apart from cute CWA ladies and the amazing Map shop, we also found ourselves in a knife shop (how interesting!) and a funky gift shop where everything in there kind of cracked me up. Darren bought himself a 'Where's Wally' cup. Funny enough, he was totally decked out in his 'Where's Wally outfit' that day. It was totally coincidental. And yup, Darren loves Wheres Wally. I think he looks a little bit like Wally himself! Especially when he's wearing his glasses. Tall, skinny stripy!
Tassie HolidayTassie HolidayTassie HolidayTassie HolidayTassie Holiday For lunch, we drove back to the wharf for ...Fish and Chips! Yup! Our 6th or was it our 7th one throughout our trip. You see, by that time, we were pretty fished out from fish and chips. But then we told ourselves, it was a case of 'Now or never!', at least not until we returned to Hobart again. Hobart's seafood was tooo good, we just had to have it one last time. We bought ourselves a pack filled with scallops and prawns. Darren bought fresh oysters (he loves his oysters) and we pigged out in the car. Because we were so sick of battered seafood, we ended up stripping away all the batter, throwing out fries and just ate all the seafood. We wished they would sell grilled ones instead of heavily battered fish! Tassie HolidayTassie Holiday After our seafood binge, let me just say, I've truly well hit my quota for fish and chips and oysters for at least a year I think. We've been back in Melbourne about 4 weeks since, and I'v yet to touch Fish and Chips or oysters. Not for me, not now at least. Give me another month or so. Heh! Driving off Hobart, we said our sad goodbyes to the cute little town. Fun times, fun memories. We promised to be back! We headed towards Richmond, which wasn't too far away so we arrived shortly after. There were some bits and pieces interesting about Richmond. We chose to visit the Old Hobart Town Model Village Museum. It was pretty small, and I wished it was ten times bigger. But I must say, it must be quite an amount of work that went into building those tiny little figurines. Lots of dedication and patience involved! Tassie HolidayTassie HolidayTassie Holiday While we were at Richmond, we came across lots of other interesting gift shops filled full with bowls and boxes made from Tasmania's famous Huon Pine. There was also the lollie shop where we bought and shared an ice cream. Oh and I also discovered an Old time portrait shop, of which Darren had to drag me away from. It was a shop where you could put on vintage costumes and have your photo taken, vintage style! I know, it sounds so cheesy but I can't help it! Love these sort of wacky stuff. Haha. I almost talked Darren into taking a portrait but due to time constraints, we had to rush off, and head towards Devonport. Sigh! No funny portraits of us then. Maybe next time!Tassie Holiday Tassie HolidayTassie HolidayTassie HolidayTassie Holiday Back on the highway, we munched on our treats from Jackman and Mcross. It was a bad idea as it made us miss the bakery immediately! But well, we distracted ourselves by spotting Silhouette sculptures, interesting topiaries and several op shops. I really wanted us to stop over for photos but we just didn't have time. The sun was setting pretty quickly and we were just too worried we couldn't reach Devonport in time! On hindsight, we should have left Hobart in the morning just so we would have more time to explore Richmond and surrounds. Tassie Holiday Anyway, one very last stop before we were back on the ferry in Devonport. We made it a point to drop by Callington Mill, which was featured on Masterchef weeks ago. It was just about to close for the day so we quickly bought some flour and off we went. I can't remember which flour we bought now. We got two different varieties. But man, they were so good and so fine. I've been baking breads with them and the breads just come out so nicely, unlike the ones where I've used just regular supermarket flour. If you live in Tassie and have access to their flours, please do try some! Sadly, I don't think Callington Mill Flours are stocked anywhere else outside of Tassie. So too bad for those of us, outside of Tassie.Tassie HolidayTassie Holiday So yup, nothing much really happened on the last Day. Unlike our previous days at Cradle Mountain and MONA. It was mostly driving on the road, rushing up to Devonport. Before I end my final Terrific Tassie post, here's a few pictures onboard The Spirit Of Tasmania. Could not, not post these! The ferry trip was after all part of our adventure. Even though I got quite seasick!
Tassie HolidayTassie HolidayTassie HolidayTassie Holiday Once again, thank you so super much for reading, emailing me and leaving useful comments and tips. Indeed, Tasmania has so much to offer and I loved every bit of it! Our 6 days were all jam-packed and filled to the brim with activities. There were lots of fun and laughter involved, a perfect getaway right smack in the middle of busy-ness. Darren and I are already looking forward to returning some day soon. We'd love to head to the West side this time round! We've never been there before but we're pretty sure it'll be as beautiful as what we've come across thus far. Thanks for reading once again and I hope you've enjoyed every single Tassie post! See you back here soon with all my art-making adventures.

THANK YOU TASMANIA FOR BEING SO AWESOME! XO!
