Yesterday marked the end of another semester in art school for me and a lot of my third year painting friends. So just thought I'd celebrate my completion of yet another wee milestone in art school, by posting some photos of my studio spaces over the past couple of semesters. It's been my little tradition to take a photo at the end of each semester. So just thought it will be nice to share.
Looking back, I can't believe how much I've learnt! Just look at the first image of my first year studio. My art totally sucked! Haha. Can't believe I actually took the picture thinking I've done some nice paintings. Haha. Oh my. My art has changed so much!
Over the next couple of days, I'll be showing you some of my friend's amazing studios and of course, I'll try to scan the Frankie feature so you can read it. And take a proper photo of the Harvest Magazine cover. Thank you so much for all the wonderful congratulatory messages. And the photography offers too! All of your lovely comments made my heart melt! I've been so busy the past couple of days, with the build up to assessment, and fell sick again ( woes of glandular fever! My immune system is horrible! ) so I'm ignoring my inbox a little bit and will get back to it once I get enough rest! So if I haven't emailed you back, do be patient. Thank you!
Off to get some cranberry juice! Ta!
This is so awesome! Your studio looks so nice & relaxing (& possibly hectic depending on what you're working on, haha!) and art school! Wow! Where do you go?
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of your studio, I'm a second year art student and they don't give personal studio spaces until 3rd year so I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteOh and I don't think your art sucked in the first photo.
These are great pictures! You've created a lot!
ReplyDeleteThat is very cool to see.. and the first image, it doesn't suck.. I was thinking how much I love it!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! And it must be wonderful sitting in one's very own studio space filled with your very own art. Nice pictures!
ReplyDeleteoh my god i love it all!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool and dont even be silly, i wish i could paint even half as well as you did in your first semester!!! love it =)

These photos are BRILLIANT. I can guarantee that no one else other than you dislikes your first semester's work. Even if you don't like it, it shows now much you've progressed. My college is too small to allow for individual studio spaces so I am most envious! I also think its very cute how your hair style as evolved over the semesters, I especially like the most recent photo. And that you grow plants in your workspace, thats great. Ah and after you bloggeda about Frankie I went straight out to buy it! First time in months so it was a lovely treat. Congrats, you're so lucky to get that exposure. I look forward to seeing your friends' studios.
ReplyDeleteI bought Frankie today without knowing you were the featured artist when I turned a page to see all your delicious, instantly recognisable illustrations: WELL DONE YOU, THAT'S FRANK-TASTIC!! ^_^ Penny
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your studio looks really nice, too!
such a good idea, to take photos of each year's studio. I wish I'd done it, I've just finished my degree and not a single photo of each studio.
ReplyDeleteYour studios look lovely and light!
I love that patchwork teepee! Too cool
